SeaBreeze is an egg I designed during one
of my youngest son's soccer practices while
I was thinking of the warm, sunny beaches
of my youth in New Zealand. I usually
display this egg on a small, motorized
turntable because as it turns, you can see
the waves in the front and back at the
same time and their interplay is quite
mesmerizing and relaxing. I'm all for
anything that's relaxing. This design takes
me almost as long to draw proportionally
on the egg as it does to actually cut
everything out. As usual, smoothing and
detailing take me about ten times as long
as the cutting.
