I've always been fascinated by Baroque
and Rococo architectue of the 17th and
18th centuries in which detail and balance
were both revered to the nth degree. If a
building had a tower on the left with 5,000
decorative elements on it, an exact
matching tower with all 5,000 decorative
elements in reverse had to be built on the
right. Since the Baroque movement started
in Italy, my "Florentine Flames" pokes a
little fun at the style, with each little cut
being matched in reverse everywhere on
the egg. These movements went up in
figurative flames with the arrival of
Neoclassicism.
Price: $399.00 USD plus shipping and
insurance. An ornate stand (fitting)
from which to suspend the egg is
included.
