Pattern Pack 01: Includes 12 images, each presented in three sizes from small to large. The images include a unicorn, an eagle in flight, a peacock, a Christmas tree, six small butterflies in formation flight into the distance, a beautiful swan on a lake, a rose with buds and leaves, a snowman with top hat, an eagle just grabbing a fish for lunch, the angel Gabriel blowing his horn while flying, a dove representing peace and a wonderfully detailed butterfly. All of these image are yours to use on any size shell you desire, over and over again.
Pattern Pack 02: Comprised of 15 images, some of which might be a bit more challenging. There are three angels rendered in three quite different styles. One, holding a wreath, is realistic. The second, wings outspread, is stylized. The third has rays extending from her halo. There's a Christmas wreath, two different butterflies in flight, two dolphins playing, an elephant, a hummingbird feeding from a flower, two images that could be snowflakes or could be combined, as lace, with the three different images of a wedding couple dancing, and even Rudolph the Reindeer.
Learn How to transfer patterns to your eggs here: Easy Pattern Transfer Method.
I used to think my biggest contribution to egg carving would be my publication, The Eggshell Sculptor Magazine and its ability to save people so much time and effort that they would have normally spent learning by trial and error, like I did. However, I'm no longer convinced that my legacy, if I leave one at all, will be linked to those things, or even be linked to my eggs themselves, at least not totally. As it turns out, I think I will be remembered for developing a way for people with absolutely no artistic talent to actually learn to carve eggs easily, deriving a great deal of satisfaction from it... a simple, inexpensive transfer method to get the patten of their choice onto the eggshell in the first place. Once beginning egg carvers could easily get patterns onto their eggs, the need for more and more proven patterns started to skyrocket. Thus, in 2003, Judy Nelson (one of the best artists and egg carvers I've ever known) and I teamed up to produce patterns that would meet this new need. We both worked on every one of these patterns and both carved them into eggshells until we were satisfied that even beginners could experience success. We were rather surprised when experienced carvers began buying them as well. The patterns were originally designed to be stencil-like, but would all hold together when the eggshell was cut away by beginning carvers. Experienced egg carvers began using them also on emu eggs, taking advantage of the shells' different layers of colors and not piercing the shell at all. Still others transformed these patterns into ones they could carve in relief.
So far we've produced two packs which can be bought separately or together. The idea is for you to keep the originals and either make photocopies for actual use, or to scan them into your computer and print them out to be transferred to your eggshells. If you click on the photo above you will be able to view another photo that shows all of the patterns carved into goose eggs or smaller.
These eggs can be enhanced by carving additional decoration all around the egg also. I put grass and clouds all the way around my elephant egg, for example, so the customization possiblities are endless. You can put these eggs on stands or glue "up-eyes" on top so you can hang them. When done, they make great gifts for almost any occasion and are especially nice for shows where you need some less expensive items to sell, because these patterns do not take long to carve, so you can sell for less yet still put a little money in your pocket!
We are currently working on a third pack for Emu eggs! I know many of you have been waiting for that one so keep checking back here and it will be posted as soon as it is ready. There are some fantastic patterns that will really blow you away. ~GL

Patterns would have been better shipped via mail. Not all of us have a printer. But I reccommend this selection and wish there were more humming birds.
