Egg Carving Training Videos
|
Several people have asked me when my "video" will
be ready or have said things like, "I'm buying it as
soon as it's out." In other words, it seems as though
the general understanding is that I'm producing one
video which explains and teaches everything one
needs to know to become an expert egg carver.
That's just not the case.
The truth is that I'm producing a series of videos
and the first one will be for those who have not yet
carved or don't yet know whether they will like it or
whether or not they really want to get involved. It
will explain the various tools available, all about
compressors, how to transfer patterns and will
include one pattern and complete video training to
show how easy it is to get started, even if you don't
consider yourself an artist in any way, shape, or
form.
After that first video is out, I will focus on the next logical step: Simple carving of the smaller
eggs (goose, duck, chicken, turkey, bantam, etc). The following video will be something like
"Intermediate Carving of Smaller Eggshells," and then "Advanced Carving Techniques for
Smaller Eggshells." Then I would move on to beginning, intermediate and advanced emu carving.
Topping the series of with all of the styles of carving possible on the big eggs with thicker shells.
Again, a three-tiered series from beginner to advanced. Now, it may be better to go through all of
the beginners' videos first... "Beginner's Guide to carving Smaller Eggshells," then "Beginner's
Guide to Carving Emu Eggs" and "Beginner's Guide to Carving Large Eggshells." Then go back
and do all of the intermediate videos, then finishing with the advanced series. If anyone has
strong feelings about which order I should choose, please make your feelings known by emailing
me here.
Once I've done that, I might continue designing new eggs and doing a new video each month of a
fairly involved carving from start to finish. That will depend on whether people find that idea
enticing or not. Again, you'll have to let me know about your wants and needs in that regard.
Thanks all!! ~GL
